Comstock Resources
Comstock Resource operates in 55,000 net acres primarily in McMullen and LaSalle counties, Texas and in the Eastern extension of the Eagle Ford shale in Burleson County, Texas. In 2014, this region accounted for 97% of our oil production at 11,500 barrels of oil per day and 19% of our natural gas production at 20 MMcf per day. Our oil production in the region increased 89% as a result of our drilling Eagle Ford shale wells. Natural gas production in this region increased by 3% in 2014 with the associated natural gas from the Eagle Ford shale wells. We spent $463 million in 2014 to drill 79 (53.7 net) horizontal Eagle Ford shale wells. We completed 88 Eagle Ford shale wells which had an average per well initial production rate of 737 barrels of oil equivalent per day. Our drilling program in the Eagle Ford shale added 5.1 million barrels of oil and 5 Bcf of natural gas or 5.9 million barrels of oil equivalent to proved reserves in 2014. We plan to spend $51 million in 2015 to drill four (4.0 net) Eagle Ford shale horizontal wells and to complete eight (6.0 net) wells that were drilled during 2014. July 2015, the company entered into an agreement with a private company to sell oil and gas properties in the Eagle Ford Shale in and around Burleson County, Texas, for about $115 million

Comstock Eagle Ford Shale Quarterly Commentary
February 2016
Comstock’s loss of $55.1 million in the last three months of the year are in contrast to a record 86% increase growth in oil production. Production in 2014 was at 4.3 million barrels, compared to 2.3 million barrels produced in 2013.
Looking to the new year, Comstock will be scaling back its drilling program due to the significant drop in oil prices.
CEO Roland Burns reported that “With the rapid fall in oil prices, we have shutdown our oil drilling program in late December, but we do have eight additional wells in our South Texas Eagle Ford and nine additional wells in our East Texas Eagle Ford area that we expect to put on production in the first quarter of 2015. So we do expect a little more oil growth in the first quarter, but then we expect oil to decline later in the year with no additional drilling budgeted. For all of 2015, we’re expecting oil production to average between 9,500 and 10,500 barrels per day.” 2014 Eagle Ford highlights:
- Successful drilling program in South Texas Eagle Ford shale drove oil growth in 2014
- 68 out of 68 wells drilled were successful
- Placed 91 (61.3 net) new Eagle Ford shale wells on production
- Four wells drilled in 2014 to be completed in 2015
