Fayette County (960 sq miles) is in south-central Texas and forms part of the Eagle Ford shale play. Fayette County sits in an area of the Eagle Ford formation that is liquids-rich in nature.

The extent of commercial production in the county is not yet understood as Eagle Ford exploration in Fayette County is still in its early stages.
