Aqueous Services Looks to Lead the Way in Eagle Ford Water Supply and Water Management - Press Release

Aqueous Services opened its freshwater load out facility with the mission of providing water and water management services to oil and gas companies operating in the Eagle Ford.

The Aqueous facility is unique to the region, specifically designed for maximum efficiency and ease of use.

Water is an important topic on everyone’s mind,” said Frates Seeligson, president of Aqueous Services. “Companies needed an accessible water source to supply man camps, build roads, pads and most importantly for hydraulic fracturing. Local residents and landowners want to know their resource is used in a responsible and sustainable way. We listened to both their needs, creating a fully automated facility that is open 24/7, while laying the groundwork for expansion into recycling. Obtaining fresh water is now as simple as filling out a credit application and filling up the trucks.

he Aqueous Services’ load out facility is fully expandable, and was built to facilitate a frac fluid recycling program.  Aqueous is focused on promoting environmental sustainability within the industry, and can work with companies to help design a water management program that minimizes the amount of water used in the drilling and hydraulic fracturing process.  This is imperative to an area in South Texas that is already facing one of the worst droughts in the State’s history.

It is important that we continue to focus on frac fluid recycling so that we remain good stewards of the environment while exploring for the oil and gas deposits that help fuel our local, state and national economies,” said Clayton Carter, CEO of Freestone Resources, Inc. (OTCQB:FSNR), an oil and gas technology development company and a partner in Aqueous Services. “The Aqueous fresh water load out facility is the first step in promoting this effort. Only a certain percentage of the hydraulic fracturing fluids immediately return to the surface in what is known as flowback water. A viable recycling operation will have to supplement the recycled water with other water sources, such as the water source currently provided by Aqueous, to sustain a continuous hydraulic fracturing program. A recycling facility can reduce fresh water consumption by up to 40% per well. When you’re talking about millions of gallons of water used to complete each well, it’s clear that recycling can make a drastic impact in the reduction of water consumption.

Aqueous Services has signed up numerous companies in the Eagle Ford since it first opened.  The Aqueous load out facility is strategically located near the cities of Stockdale, Nixon, and Gillette at 2200 CR 458 in Wilson County 78143. Water is provided 24/7 from the Carrizo Aquifer.  To learn more, visit Aqueous Services’ website at http://www.aqueousservices.com.

Grand Opening For Koontz McCombs Workforce Housing Property - Thursday, July 25th in Dilley - Press Release

Sendero Ranch Grand Opening Invitation - 300 px
Sendero Ranch Grand Opening Invitation - 300 px

Award-winning commercial real estate firm Koontz McCombs has announced the grand opening of Eagle Ford Shale’s newest workforce housing community, Sendero Ranch in Dilley, TX.

Located in the heart of the fast-growing Eagle Ford Shale, the grand opening party is scheduled for Thursday, July 25th from 6pm-9pm and will feature cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and live music from highly acclaimed San Antonio musician Thom Shepard. All industry executives are welcome to attend and complimentary accommodations may be provided with advanced notice (24 hours notice). Kindly RSVP online HERE or call 830.220.1670.

esponding to oil companies’ demand for higher quality housing for their on-site employees and contractors, Koontz McCombs developed Sendero Ranch with the same high standards, attention to detail and quality-of-life amenities for which they are known in all their developments and construction projects.

Historically, workforce housing standards have been quite low, contributing to poor health and high attrition rates for workers. With the North American shale-gas boom in full swing, and expectation of continued growth over the next 20 years, companies are scrambling to provide affordable, quality living conditions for temporary and permanent field workforce, allowing them to attract and retain the skilled staffing they need.

Koontz McCombs is leading a paradigm shift away from the previously accepted low standards of workforce housing.

We’ve worked very hard to create top-tier private communities with the “home away from home” feel”, says company representative Loren Gulley. “We take great pride in providing the highest quality living standard in the market. It gives us great satisfaction that our clients and their people are happy, healthy and safe.

The new Sendero Ranch is a gated community with on-site management, private driveways, covered porches, flat-screen cable TV, high speed internet, maid service, recreation and laundry facilities. The Dilley location also offers commercial and industrial lots ranging in size from 1.3 acres up to 50+ acres available for sale, lease, or build to suit.

About Koontz McCombs

The firm of Koontz McCombs was formed in 1997 by Bart Koontz and Red McCombs to pursue the creation of distinctive, high quality properties throughout the state of Texas. Today, Koontz McCombs is a respected leader in commercial and multi-family real estate, producing high profile properties in San Antonio, Austin and Houston. With two locations in the Eagle Ford Shale oil and gas formation, Koontz McCombs has developed the Sendero Ranch properties in centrally located Dilley and Pearsall, available for daily, weekly, monthly and yearly rental. ConocoPhillips Ramping Up for the Future (2011) - Eagle Ford Flashback

ConocoPhillips Eagle Ford Acreage Map
ConocoPhillips Eagle Ford Acreage Map

ConocoPhillips began ramping up in South Texas not long after acquiring Burlington Resources. The following was taken from an Eagle Ford fact sheet over two years ago:

The conception of Eagle Ford started as a play off of a deal between Burlington Resources and Texas Crude. When ConocoPhillips acquired Burlington, the company began seeing well results in the area that enticed it to acquire more acreage, hence the birth of the ConocoPhillips Eagle Ford asset.

"ConocoPhillips was fortunate to acquire a strong position with low acreage costs in the Eagle Ford, one of the best shale plays in the county, before industry attention in that area became so intense," said Don Hrap, president, ConocoPhillips Americas. "When early results pointed toward a good opportunity to capture resource, the decision to ramp up was obvious."

With encouragement from top management in November 2009, Eagle Ford development was a go, and there was no looking back.

Driver Safety, The Law, and Cellular Based Devices In The Eagle Ford - Press Release

Wireless Communication in South Texas
Wireless Communication in South Texas

The ongoing national campaign against the use of cellular devices while operating a motor vehicle has sent out a plethora of mixed messages. Nearly 1 in 5 crashes in Texas occur while using cellular devices. On January 3, 2012 the US Department of Transportation (DOT) adopted a ban to restrict the use of mobile devices while operating a commercial motor vehicle.

The “Distracted Driver” campaign has established partial or total bans on texting while driving in over forty states, and heavy fines and civil penalties will be imposed on commercial drivers who use any hand-held device that has a phone number (FCC definition for mobile telephone) while driving. Violations will incur federal civil penalties of up to $27,750 for each offense and multiple offenses can ultimately lead to driver license disqualification.

What Do The New Rules Mean?

The new rule specifies that holding, dialing and reaching for a mobile device is unacceptable. Push-to-talk mobile telephones (if it has a phone number) are also restricted under the new rule. The restriction does not include the use of Professional Land Mobile Two-Way Radio units. Two-way radios are not considered to be mobile telephones and are not affected by the legislation.

"For many years A&B Communications has operated one of the largest wide-area communication networks in the US", says Patrick Russell General Manager.

A&B Communication's is expanding its South Texas network even further. The network was built for the oilfield service industry and has supported large, medium and small fleets through good times and bad. With the dramatic growth in Eagle Ford, we have been racing to expand coverage areas and network capacity to keep up with demand from new and previously existing fleet operators. Our network has always covered the remote unpopulated parts of Texas where cellular systems don’t go.

In addition to the “distracted driver” safety concerns,  our customers demand instant access to their fleets at the push of a button. They want reliable coverage, loud/clear audio that can be heard in noisy environments, convenient installations from service people who are willing to come to them on their schedules.

If US DoT rules are affecting your company, consider a reliable two-way radio system.

Headquartered in Corpus Christi, A&B Communications understands the unique needs of the oilfield fleet operator. The company specializes in safe, reliable, private communications systems and devices for petrochemical refining, oilfield, medical and public safety.
